Which of Invisalign and fixed braces offer quicker results?

March 5th, 2010

Q. I am 26 and my dentist has informed me that I would need a brace to close the gaps at my bottom teeth which are about 3mm wide. The dentist has told me that I can go with fixed braces or that I can have the invisible braces but can you tell me which one would give me results in the quickest fashion and which would offer me the better results. What cost would I expect to pay for each teratment also please.
A. Hello,
We need to see the situation before we can tell. Both options might be available for you. You could have a consultation with a provider to discuss your plan.Invisalign starts form around  £2000.

What can I drink with aligners in?

March 5th, 2010

Q. I am sure that I read somewhere that you shouldn’t drink with the aligners, in but I am sure it said it is okay for water. What about ice cold water which I am partial to? I would guess that warm water like in tea would be bad but what about cold water Dr?
A. You may drink anything, I have fo rover 3 years. They only stain if you dont keep them clean.
They only warp if you use hot hot water

Can Invisalign fix out of place canine tooth?

March 5th, 2010

Q. my upper lateral incisors and canine teeth stick out and this makes my smile look goofy. the thing is though my other teeth are in good shape so I am wondering if Invisalign would be a asuitable treatment to have this sorted?
A. It sounds like Invisalign would be able to sort out the position of your teeth but it would hard to be certain without seeing the teeth myself.

I would book an appointment with an Invisalign experience dentist for a consultation.

What treatment would be best to correct weird looking incisors?

March 4th, 2010

Q. hello Dr Li! I’m 18. Both of my incisors look weird. They are gap between them and they like curve outward. But, the rest of my teeth are tidy. What treatment do I need?Thank you doctor!
A. Dear Ainsley,

The space between the teeth should be easily closed with braces and the curvature may also be corrected with orthodontic treatment. Unfortunately I would need to see you to fully assess the position of your incisors to be confident.

If you would like to travel to the practice I can have a look.

Kind regards

Simon

Can Invisalign help me achieve a Hollywood smile?

March 3rd, 2010

Q. I am hoping to achieve a sparkling white smile or what I have found to be called the hollywood smile. Obviously I don’t want anything too dazzling but I want to look good. I am looking at veneers and invisalign and teeth whitening but do not really know which route would be best to go down. Fomr your knowqledge of these treatments can you offer any helpful advice?
A. It depends on the position of your teeth and the colour of them at the moment. Classically a “Hollywood Smile” is done by veneers but it is advisable to see if Invisalign can move your teeth straight and then whiten them. Doing things this way means that the dentist is not shaving your teeth done very much at all.

Is dentist right to tell me to change aligners every ten days?

March 3rd, 2010

Q. I am only a month into my treatment but my dentist has told me to start changing aligners every ten days rather than two weeks and he said this was becuase I have quite so many trays. Does this sound right to you? I am obvisouly happy that this will quicken the rate of my treatment but I don’t want a bad job doing here either,
A. I would prefer you to keep to 14 days, the teeth need time to move and if you rush them the aligners may stop fitting.  If you change after 10 days and the new aligner seems too tight or poorly fitting I would continue with the original 14 day protocol.

What factors affect the cost of invisalign treatment?

March 3rd, 2010

Q. About the cost of Invisalign I was wondering if the price is at all based on the number of trays that you need for your treatment to be completed. Say for example my tray needs 25 trays to complete the treatment as an estimate, but if that was lower say about 15 would that price be lower? I am just thinking about the material that would be used etc and the cost this may add. Not all that important to my treatment but I am just interested to know really.
A. dear Sir/Madam,
the cost of the plastic is not very much. The treatment costs c=vary more on the length of time.
The longer the time, the more teeth are being moved, the less teeth are being trimmed and the healthier your smile will be.
INvisalign only charges 1 fee no matter how many aligners are required; its the dentists’ time that is being managed
