I am getting food stuck between my teeth when on invisalign

July 28th, 2009

Q. I am currently having invisalign treatment on both top and bottom teeth. I have finished on the top, and now have a retainer and am on the final tray on the bottom. I find that I now get food stuck in between 5&6 and 4&5 top and bottom. My regualr dentist is concerned about this as I have a crown. Is there anything that can be done about this with invisalign?

A. Hi
it is very difficult to say what can be done without seeing your teeth and carrying a full examination. I would recommend you go and see your invisalign practitioner to seek advice
best wishes

i was wondering if the invisalign treatment can be reversed?

July 26th, 2009

Q. hello sir i was wondering if the invisalign treatment can be reversed? Somebody told me they had invisalign and then after a year their teeth went back to being crooked again and it is only a temporary solution is this true
A. Hi

Regardless what orthodontic appliance used to straighten teeth, it will relapse if a retainer is not worn.
Hence the reason for the reversal.
I do recommend long term  retention following  Invisalign or any orthodontic treatment

Does invisalign have a fixed price

July 25th, 2009

Q. hi, i am very interested in having invisalign. i have already been for one consultation where there was a standard price of £2995 for both upper and lower sets (incl whitening). does your dentist have a fix price or does it depend on each individual. do you do free consultation? thank you
A. Hi

We do not have a standard price for all cases as each case differs in the length of treatment and complexity. Our prices range from £1500 to £3500 depending on these factors. The price includes retainers and whitening.

I would recommend when looking for treatmnet, it is also important you seek someone who is experienced.

We do offer free consultations for invisalign. If you would like to book a consultation, contact reception on 01509 23 11 44.

Can i get invisalign on my top teeth and damon braces on bottom?

July 25th, 2009

Q. I was wondering if it was at all possible to get invisalign braces on the top part of my teeth while I have damon braces on the bottom row. Since my top row is not as serious as my bottom, I would prefer invisable braces on my top. Is it possible to have those 2 at the same time? Thanks
A.

Hello,
It really depends on the current situation of your teeth. Ideally, we do not  combine different techniques at the same time.

Why would not you like to have Invisalign on your lower teeth as well? Especially ,if the price is the same for single and dual arch treatment.

If you had a consultation and the dentist did not recommend  lower Invisalign  treatment , that is another issue.

Provided you will  have the lower Damon appliance first, I would wait and finish it then have the Invisalign.  If your bite would not make it possible to have the treatments separately I would have Damon Braces on both arches.

The best would be to book an appointment with a dentist and check  your options

does invisalign pain go away after few days

July 25th, 2009

Q. I’ve been wearing my braces for the past four days now, does the pain lessen after a few days or will i continue to feel the pain? I can feel the braces harpe underneath my top lip, how could I reduce this scratchy feeling?
A.

You should find that the discomfort that you are feeling will reduce over the next few days. As your teeth are moving they will be sore and uncomfortable. This will feel more tender when you start with your first brace. Usually the next aligner will only cause discomfort for 2 or 3 days. You could take some painkillers to help with the pain.

If the edge of the align is scratching the inner side of your lip then you can use a nail file to smooth the edge. You may find that would may need to do this for all your aligners or just one or two.

Hi I’m struggling to decide between Invisalign and

July 25th, 2009

Q. Hi I’m struggling to decide between Invisalign and Inman Aligners. I want a quick fix and have recently come across Invisalign Express - despite all sorts of searches I cannot find hardly any dentists that do this and more info on how much approx it would cost (top and bottom) and how long approx it would take rather than the regular 12-18 months. Thanks
A. Inman aligner is only good for pushing teeth out, usually lower fronts.
Invisalign express etc will involve movement of the front teeth only and if you do not have enough space then the dentist will have to file down the enamel between your teeth; thats why very few dentists do it. Orthodontics involves moving teeth not cutting teeth. without seeing your smile it is hard to say

Do i need to take teeth out if i have invisalign

July 22nd, 2009

Q. hello do i need to take teeth out if i have invisalign, my dentist said that if i have invisalign they will need to remove 4 teeth but if i have metal braces i dont need to have my teeth pulled out. is this right? I really want invisalign because i dont like the way metal braces look
A. NO.
It depends on the case.
In cases of severe crowding extraction may be necessary or filing between the teeth to relieve the crowding.
Have a second opinion
