Q. Is 60 too old to get invisalign braces? My teeth are not too bad but now that I have a bit of extra money lying around i would love to get them looking their best. would i be okay to do this? also, i have heard that tooth whitening can be a part of the invisalign process? is this included in the initial cost?
A. Hello,
There is no age limit for Invisalign so if your teeth and gum are healthy you could be a great candidate for this type of Orthodontic tretament. The last aligner could be used for bleaching. At our clinic it is included in the price of Invisalign.

Q. I am now on the last day before switching to my next aligners but there is no tension or restricion with the ones I am currently wearing, meaning they have done their job I guess. Would I be able to move on to the next aligners now or am I better sticking to the plan set out by my dentist?
A. It would be best to stick to the recommended time frame that your dentist advises. Accelerating this may cause detrimental effects to the movement of your teeth overall.

Q. I am wanting to get invisalign, mostly because I really like that theya re invisible and hard for people to notice, especeially compared to metal braces. What kind of things could possibly stain the braces, and also, how regular is it aht you have to clean them during the day? Will I have to carry a toothbrush around with me or something?
A. You take them out to eat I always recommend you clean your teeth before you put them back in. Most of my patients carry a toothbrush with them!

Q. I only just started my invisalign treatment yesterday and already i am having problems. The problem is that I have noticed that there is a pointy bit sticking out of the tray and it is coming into contact with my tongue which hurts quite a bit after all the rubbing. I have an appointment next week to get this sorted out and the things shaved down a bit or something, but is there anything I can do in the mean time to ease the irritable thing?
A. Hello,
The best is always to pop back to see the dentist who can easily smooth your aligner. You do not really have the skills and the instruments to do this.

Q. I am going to have a consultation next week for invisalign to see if I am suitable for treatment or not. Would you be able to tell me what kind of criteria is used to decide whether or not a patient is suitable for invisalign?
A.
The dentist will assess your teeth and look at what movements are needed to straighten them.
They will look at the amount of crowding you have, the amount of spacing you have, the degree of rotations each tooth will need to get it into the correct position.
The criteria is fairly extensive.

Q. Do you know of a good invisalign provider in Manchester? I am currently at a dentist but they do not offer this treatment, which I really want? Would I be able to have one dentist for normal dentist treatment and another for straightening my teeth?
A. It is quite common to have a seperate dentist carry out your invisalign. Have a look at the invisalign website and enter your postcode you should find several dentists that provide this service.

Q. I managed to lose my current set of aligners, when am still supposed to wear them for one week more. I have put on the next set, which are a little more tight but seem okay. Is it okay that I did this? I have booked an appointment with my dentist for a couple of days to talk about it.
A. Hello,
If you have the previous set, use that one. Your dentis could re-order your missing pair from Invisalign. Take you new set to the dentist so the fit could be checked too.

Q. Do clinics offer financial services where the cost can be spread over each month. If they do can you please give me an estimate of what this price would be each month most likely?
A.
Finance is available for most dental treatments such as Invisalign.
It depends on the cost of the treatment and the period of the finance.
It would be best to ask the dentist with whom you are thinking about having Invisalign with.

Q. I am looking into invisalign treatment, and have a quick question. How often do you need to clean your aligners? Is it after every meal, at certain times of the day??
A. We recommend cleaning your teeth and aligners after every meal. You do not eat or drink anything apart from cold water while they are in your mouth.
