Is it okay to smoke when wearing aligners?

Q.
My dentist never actually really told me (probably because I didn’t tell him I did so) but is it okay or not to smokre with the aligners in? Is this likely to discolour them, or my teeth? I guess it won’t be too bad seen as the aligners get changed every two weeks.

Is invisalign set by a fixed price?

I am currently looking at getting Invisalign and have had a consultation with a dentist. I was wondering if the price can vary according to the dentist or if it’s set by Invisalign in America? Also i was told the price of Invisalign would be the same for top and bottom as it would be for just top braces? is this the case?

Is it normal not to feel pain when wearing new aligner?

Q.
I know invisalign aligners are supposed to be less painful and tight than fixed braces but i just got my second aligner in and have not felt any kind of movement or any sign that there is movement going on. I have gaps between my teeth that need closing and there should surely be some kind of discomfort during the first couple of days after putting them on?

Is it possible to combine metal braces and invisalign?

Do you know if it is possible to have metal braces on for a short time but to make the invisalign aligners the main part of treatment? I don’t mind having metal braces for a short time but would much rather have the invisible braces? Have any of your patients done this before?

I have only just started invisalign treatment but already have a question. When I put my aligners on and am wearing them they do not feel like they are properly on. I mean, if feels like they are a bit loose to how they should be. I have tried pushing down but don’t want to do so too hard for fear of breaking them?

What is the invisalign system?

I have wanted to get my teeth straightened for quite some times now but as with most I have been put off my the mere fact that I don’t want to be wearing braces for a year or so. But now I have come across the invisalign system and I am just wondering how different this is from the normal braces?
