Should I get invislaign or damon braces for daughter?

November 16th, 2009

Q. hello i have an 11yr old daughter.we have been advised that she needs damon braces. what is the best option for her damon braces or invisalign ? and how much money are both procedures. thankyou
A. Hello Karen,

It really depens on the position of the teeth. Invisalign is a very comfortable way to straighten the teeth but your daughter might not be an ideal candidate for that. I would advise an appointment with an orthodontist. At our Clinic Invisalign Starts from £2500.

If I am rejected for invisalign, what are my other options?

October 19th, 2009

Q. I have a consultation booked for invisalign with a specialist next week. My normal dentist said by the look of my teeth that I was unlikely to be a candidate, but I am going to find out for myself. I would like to know what other options there are if I can not get invisalign braces?
A. The only other option in terms of straightening your teeth will be the fixed braces.
There are various types. The damon brace are quite good and quicker.

i have moderate overcrowding ie too many teeth in

October 8th, 2009

Q. Hi there, I have moderate overcrowding ie too many teeth in my mouth. My upper row is fine. The bottom row has too many teeth. It means that the two at the front seem fine but the ones either side protudes upwards and are being pushed back this gives a unsightly dracula effect. what would be my options in your professional opinion, and what would be the quickest ?? regards.
A. There are many forms of teeth staightnening that are good for treating crowded teeth, ie invisalign, inman aligner, damon braces, six month braces. It is very difficult to say what the best form of treatment is for you without a clinical exam and without looking at your teeth and your bite. I would recommend you book in for a consultation with a dentist that carries out the treatments above to explore the options available for you.

Is it difficult to snack when using invisalign?

September 28th, 2009

Q. I eat snacks quite a bit during my day, all because of a busy schedule. I have to eat when I get the chance. I would like to get braces, but have read that invisalign makes it difficult to snack, what with removing and cleaning them. Am I wrong in this? Is there an alternative option for someone in my position?
A. You are right, you cannot eat or drink with the invisalign aligners in. If invisalign is not for you, you can consider fixed braces, such as Damon or 6 month braces/6 month smiles

One of my teeth is moving back to its orginal position. What should I do?

September 15th, 2009

Q. I finished my fixed braces treaetment a year ago, and was given retainers to wear, and then only to wear at night after a time. I no longer need to wear the retainer, but do so sometimes as I can see one of my teeth moving back to its original position slightly. The dentist said this may happen a bit as my teeth were quite crooked. Should I just stop wearing the retainer and see what happens?
A.

Hello,

I am afraid teeth can move back after Orthodontic treatment. Once they move and you are not happy with the new situation the only way to correct it is to put the fixed braces back again. I would not take the risk so I would wear the removable retainer as often possible. Maybe you want to consider fixed lingual retainer instead?

What is the main difference between fixed and invisalign braces?

September 15th, 2009

Q. What is the difference in time of success for fixed braces and invisalign. Is the only benefit of invisalign that they are supposed to be invisible?
A. Both fixed braces and invisalign can be successful and give excellent results. Many people like Invisalign because they are invisible which can be a great advantage for people whose jobs are in the public eye.

Can i get invisalign on my top teeth and damon braces on bottom?

July 25th, 2009

Q. I was wondering if it was at all possible to get invisalign braces on the top part of my teeth while I have damon braces on the bottom row. Since my top row is not as serious as my bottom, I would prefer invisable braces on my top. Is it possible to have those 2 at the same time? Thanks
A.

Hello,
It really depends on the current situation of your teeth. Ideally, we do not  combine different techniques at the same time.

Why would not you like to have Invisalign on your lower teeth as well? Especially ,if the price is the same for single and dual arch treatment.

If you had a consultation and the dentist did not recommend  lower Invisalign  treatment , that is another issue.

Provided you will  have the lower Damon appliance first, I would wait and finish it then have the Invisalign.  If your bite would not make it possible to have the treatments separately I would have Damon Braces on both arches.

The best would be to book an appointment with a dentist and check  your options
