Q. I was given elastics to use to push down two front teeth i was only using them for around a week when one of them snapped and my orthodontist said i have to pay for a new one! Why can\’t he just replace it for free for me?,
A. I would speak to your orthodontist about replacing it. Perhaps it was a manufacturing fault.

Q. I\’ve had a maryland bridge in since i was very young due to an accident and they\’re the only teeth that appear straight. my other teeth are very wonky and several protrude, I\’m desperate for invisalign but worried that the bridge will get in the way of the treatment. Have you treated anyone with bridges? Is it any different from treating those with normal teeth?,
A. The teeth that have bridges and the bridges themselves are best not moved at all and a dentist or othodontist can specify this in the treatment plan.

Q. My dentist said that there could be a possibility that I\’d have to switch to traditional braces mid-treatment if the invisalign isn\’t going to plan. he never spoke about costs or anything so would this be included with the invisalign? because I might have to stop it, even though I\’ve already paid for it, I don\’t know how the payments work.,
A. It would be best to clarify this with the densit who spoke to you. It is at the discretion of that particular dentist.

Q. I\’m new to invisalign and haven\’t really asked my orthodontist any questions. I\’m a bit scared to brush my teeth, my friend had invisalign and said every time she brushed her teeth her gums bled and i don\’t want that to happen to me, she also said that it\’s very painful when flossing, so i\’m scared to floss too. I don\’t want my teeth decaying etc so what do you advise?,
A. I would advise your friend see their Invisalign provider. Your gums should not be bleeding when you are having the Invisalign treatment! It should not be painful when flossing either!

Q. hello! i really struggle with getting the aligners out, i don\’t have any nails to grip onto them and pretty chubby fingers, can i get a tool or something for me to help pry them out?,
A. There is a tool called an elastic director that you can get hold of from your orthodontist or you may be able to purchase them online. It is a small plastic removal hook to grip the edges of the aligner to help pull them out instead of using your fingers.

Q. I\’ve been quoted different prices for different types of invisible brace treatment and each time invisalign has been the most expensive, why is this? Why is invisalign the best invisible brace?,
A. Invisalign tends to be one of the more expensive brace systems because Invisalign is almost transparent and removable. Invisalign do charge dentists quite alot for aligners in the first place.

Q. Can invisalign cause any problems with the jaw? i have tmj problems but i\’m in dire need of braces, the orthodontist has recommended invisalign but i didn\’t ask if it would cause my jaw any trouble, what do you think? :),
A. The relationship between orthodontics and jaw problems is unclear. You should speak to your othodontist and as him for his opinion.

Q. my teeth are very crowded (bottom sets) and i have a class 2 overbite my dentist said it\’s a severe case and i could be wearing braces for YEARS! can invisalign half the time i have to wear braces for?,
A. No, infact Invisalign is slower at moving teeth than conventional fixed braces. I would not expect Invisalign to straighten the teeth in half the time!

Q. Hi, I had some drinks at a party (with the aligners in) I know it was stupid because you\’re only supposed to drink water but they have turned a strange colour now, they\’re stained is there ANYTHING I can use to get them clean again?? thank you for the help!,
A. You try and use retainer brite and soak them in there to get the stain off. Otherwise hopefully you will be changing to the next aligner soon.
