My final set of aligners do not fit, what can I do about this?

July 7th, 2010

Q. I\’m on my final set of aligners and they don\’t fit at all, they won\’t click into place or anything, they simply do not fit. Has my ortho made a mistake? I have to wait a week to see her!,
A. Call your dentist, if the aligner before this one fit perfectly it may be an error in the final aligner or maybe the aligners have not been fitting well for a while, go and see your dentist if your teeth have not moved as anticipated you may need new moulds taken and some more aligners.

I’m worried that my office job is going to affect my invisalign treatment, any advice?

July 1st, 2010

Q. i\’m currently employed at an office and i\’m going to undergo invisalign. I know you have to take out your trays and clean them every time you drink something or whatever but i\’m going to find it very difficult. i can\’t keep leaving my workplace every time i have some coffee so what do you recommend i should do?? thank you,
A. You need to think about reducing how much coffee you drink, you need to substitute the coffee for cold water. I have so many clients who didnt think they would be able to cope and they have all done really well.

The refinements don’t seem to be working, what should I do?

July 1st, 2010

Q. hello, i\’ve finished the invisalign treatment (nearly) currently needing refinements to fix a few annoying teeth. Thing is they don\’t seem to be working, my front tooth is still crooked and won\’t move! i\’m on the 5/8 refinements and beginning to get very worried. what should i do?,
A. Go and seeyour dentist you may need a second refinement, the tooth may need an attachment placed on it. The other solution can be very short term fixed braces.

I have been told that I need attachments, are they visible on the back teeth?

June 30th, 2010

Q. Hello my invisalign treatment was going really well until i noticed that one of my back teeth was protruding even more. I went to my orthodontist who said i may need attachments to fix this. Will the attachments be visible? I am a very self conscious person you see and do not want to be teased.,
A. No. Attachments on back teeth aren\’t visible, if you want the solution then you have to put up with the attachment.
