How long before replacement for lost aligner arrives?

I thought dogs eating homework was only in cartoons but now my dog has decided to eat the aligner that I left lying around. Ican’t imagine it will have tasted that nice. I have told my dentist to get it sorted. How long will it take to get a new aligner?

What is common practice when invisalign ends?

What is the common practice when invisalign is finished. Is it as with metal braces with a retainer given to stop teeth from moving back to original position. Are there any further appointments and what is this teeth whitening thing I hear you can get near the end of invislaign?

How long do I need to wear retainer after invisalign?

I have heard from my brother thathsi dentist advised he wear retainers for the rest of his life once invisalign treatment is complete, but is this really necessary? When I had fixed braces when I was younger I only had to wear my retainers for a certain amount of time and my teeth only moved back slightly but not noticeable. So, is it really essential?
