Q. i\’ve been cleaning my aligners with a special product but it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth, it\’s called something \’brite\’ i can\’t remember, anyway i was wondering if you could suggest something else i could use as this stuff is awful!,
A. Hello, Make sure after using Reatiner Brite you rinse the aligner with cold water. On your teeth you could always use some minty mouthwash after brushing of course.

Q. Hey are there different types of invisalign available? for mild cases/difficult cases etc? I think i only need a quick fix, my bottom teeth are slightly crooked but my top are fine, what would you recommend because my ortho keeps trying to make me have both and i don\’t need both.,
A. Hello, In order to treat the bottom teeth, sometimes we also need to treat the the upper arch to achive enough space. Invisalign Express might be an option for your lower teeth, but first I would advise an appointment with a provider.

Q. Hi, this is just a general question but why is invisalign better than an ordinary fixed brace?,
A. Hello, Invisalign is a very comfortable way to move teeth. The aligners are really difficult to notice. In most cases, after some inicial, minor discomfort patients can speak and carry on with their every day life as if they were not even under othodontic treatment. After removing the aligners you can eat as normal. Even cleaning and flossings do not have to change.

Q. How much on average does invisalign cost? also, do i have to pay all of it up front? thanks,
A. Invisalign prices can start from £1500 for very simple cases to £4500-5000 for more complex cases. Costs will vary depending on complexity and how long treatment will take. Most practices now offer finance option to allow you to spread the costs over 1-5 years

Q. Hi, i\’ve had bad experiences with braces. I\’ve had fixed braces on and off for several years and they\’ve made no difference and they\’ve ruined my confidence. What are the success rates of invisalign? and can they deal with bad cases? I have a bad overbite and overcrowded upper teeth too. Thank you for your time,
A. Invisalign is a great form of orthodontic treatment but not everyone is the ideal candidate for this form of treatment. In more complex cases, I tend to use braces such as the Damon Braces.

Q. i\’ve had the aligners in for a few days and due to my bottom tray my tongue is really painful! i can feel the sharp edges around it but there\’s nothing i can do about it, what can i do?,
A. You rtongue should get used to it. If it is the back edge then maybe you could remove the last tooth off the aligner Dr R Kumar

Q. I\’m about to have the invisalign fitted next week and was told yesterday that i need a filling! will this affect how my aligners fit? i don\’t want to wait any longer for the treatment, i\’ve already waited ages. thanks for the help,
A. Hopefully not, if the new filling can be shaped to the originbal tooth shape it should not be a problem make sure dentist checks the fit of your aligners after the filling is completed. If the filling is very large you may need new impressions.

Q. Hi, I\’d like to get invisalign braces but am confused by the pricing. On this site it says the average cost is £3000. I called a local dentist who quoted an average of £2500 and online I can see prices as low as £895 - £1495. The £895 dentist is apparently a platinum invisalign specialist. Could you shed any light on why there is such a price difference? Do you think it would be ok to go to the cheaper dentists? Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer me.,
A. The cost does vary from practice to practice! and some practices offer a special limited offer price. However be warned that an £895 dentist may charge more for the impressions, xrays, photos, review appointments, retainers etc. Or you may see a platinum invisalign specialist for the initial consultation but the rest of your appointments may be with a hygienist, therapist or nurse. Whereas a £3000 dentist may not charge any additional extras and all your appointments are with him/her. Invisalign Anterior (front teeth 6 moving only) vs Invisalign Full (potentially all the side and back teeth moving too). It is important to compare like for like!
