Can Invisalign treat slight overcrowding?

June 15th, 2010

Q. Hi, I have slight overcrowding of my upper incisors 2-2 and was wandering if i would be suitable for invasalign and if i would require extractions?,
A. Hello, You might be able to straighten your front teeth with Invisalign. I advise a consultation with a provider who could evaluate the overlapping among your upper teeth and also check your bite.

March 17th, 2010

Q. Hi, My two front teeth a very slightly crooked, one goes back slightly and the other forward slightly (result of a fight in childhood) I\’m now 27 and it seems to be getting slightly worse, So I\’m now considering Invisalign. I wondered if you could give me an estimated price and let me know if there is a payment plan available. Thanks so much.,
A. Hello, without an exam it is difficult to tell if you could have invisalign. I would advise an appointment with a provider who could give you a quote based on the difficultiness of your case

What braces would be best to treat teeth that have relapsed?

March 15th, 2010

Q. When I was younger I had fixed braces and this involved getting four teeth removed toward the back of my mouth. Sadly, my teeth have gradually moved back to their original position, particularly my front teeth. There are a few brace systems I have read about like Invisalign, Inman Aligner and 6 Month Smiles. Would you happen to know which one would be most suitable for my particular condition? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.,
A. Invisalign can be used in the treatment of extraction case like yours. The reason for the relapse in your case would be lack of long term retention. Inman aligner and the 6 month smile only focus on the front teeth and are limited to mild cases of misalignment of the front teeth

Are refinements common for patients undergoing Invisalign?

March 12th, 2010

Q. After reading up on Invisalign treatment on forums and general websites it seems to me like a lot of patients have to get refinements in order to compelete their treatment. Is this the normal case or do many patients actually finish their treatment when they are supposed to? I am to finished my treatment in the summer and the idea of having to continue on longer is a pain I must say.,
A. Hello,Refinement is part of the invisalign treatment. Your provider will decide whether is necessary to go ahead with it or not. If you are happy with the final situation there is a possibility you might not need but your dentist should decide

What treatment would be best to correct weird looking incisors?

March 4th, 2010

Q. hello Dr Li! I’m 18. Both of my incisors look weird. They are gap between them and they like curve outward. But, the rest of my teeth are tidy. What treatment do I need?Thank you doctor!
A. Dear Ainsley,

The space between the teeth should be easily closed with braces and the curvature may also be corrected with orthodontic treatment. Unfortunately I would need to see you to fully assess the position of your incisors to be confident.

If you would like to travel to the practice I can have a look.

Kind regards

Simon

Can Invisalign fix my teeth without need for teeth removal?

February 26th, 2010

Q. It is my two front teeth that cross over one another and this makes it horrible for me when I smile as it is of course right at the front of my mouth. Do you know if i can get my teeth straightened without the need for the removal of teeth which i really do not want though i do still have my wisdome teeth. my teeth and gums are in a good nad healthy condition if this makes anyd difference.
A. It is possible to straighten teeth without extractions but this depends on each case. It is very difficult to say whether this is possible in your case without looking at your bite, the amount of crowding and your jaw sizes etc.

Would Invisalign be a good choice for a second bout of braces?

February 25th, 2010

Q. I had attached metal braces when I was younger and didn’t like them all that much. Now, I am in my early 20s and one of the front teeth has overlapped one of the other teeth. I don’t know why this has happened and if this is something that I have done wrong since my braces treatment but I really want to get it treated. My budget is notall that much and I am pretty sure that I saw 6 month smiles is cheaper than invisalign but can you advise me on what treatment would be suitable for my particular problem? Can you tell me if consultations are free for these treatments and if teeth whitening is usually inculded. Thanks.
A. dear Sir/Madam,
many thanks for contacting us.
Invisalign is a form of treatment that can be done aggressively and damage your teeth or properly by moving the side teeth out of the way first.
Sure 6 month smiles is cheaper and quicker, but do you really want a dentist filing awau the enamel between your front teeth?
as for free consultations and free tooth whitening, I would recommend these as unimportant.
If you want to have a second stage of orthodontics then do it properly and have your dentist look at the whole mouth and have full Invisalign, which will take longer and be more expensive.
I have yet to treat/finish a case within 6 months as I do not believe in enamel cutting at the front
