Is sensitive tooth sign of a problem?

September 14th, 2009

Q. If you have a sensitive tooth does this mean there is an actual problem? Or is this just sometimes one of those things that people get? I ask because I have had one tooth which has been susceptible to cold drinks for the last three months, but other than that there seems to be no obvious problem with it…
A. sensitivity can be due to many reasons
- gum recession
- caries
- fracture of a tooth or filling
etc

Very difficult to say what the cause is in your case. If you have any concerns I would recommend you go see your dentist.
