When do results of invisalign begin to show?

How long do you need to wear retainer?

Q.
Are the retainers that you get at the end of invisalign treatment need to be worn permanenetly during day and night (similar to the aligners) or is it only at night that you have to. Coming toward the end of my treatment now and must say I am delighted with the results and don’t want to risk losing them.

Should I opt for invisalign or veneers?

I am undecided between invisalign and veneers. I am siding toward veneers just because the treatment can be completed so quickly and there would be no need to wear braces for so long. Yet, I was hoping you could tell me some of the benefits and negatives of both treatments, specifically how how long the veneers actually last as this could really sway my decision.

Estimated cost for teeth whitening and straightening?

Hi Dr Glaister, From the age of 13-16 I had a lot of orthodonist work done. I am missing my adult Lacteral incisors on both sides so once my teeth were straightened I was fitted with 2 maryland bridges to fill the gaps. 7 years later and my teeth have all moved and are discoloured. My central Incisors have moved slightly (one forward/one backwards) which has caused my bridges to also move out of line. The bridges are also a lot darker than my natural teeth. I’d like to have them straightened, whitened and the bridges replaced. Can you please give me some suggestions to the best way to do this. Would I have Invisalign fitted with the old bridges still in place or would I receive temporary ones? Which brace do you think would be the most efficent and quickest? Do you think it is a bad idea to whitened my teeth and then get my new bridges to match the colour as it will lead to possible unmatched colours in the future? Could you please give me some sort of cost estimation for the work suitable? Many thanks.

What are refinements?

I am near to the end of my treatment and have been told by my dentist that I am going to need to have refinements. We talked about this briefly at the beginning of the treatment but I have all but forgotten what he said. How long will it take for my to get the refinements? Are they just like the aligners? Will last few aligners move teeth enough?

There is now only four aligners left in my treatment, which is about two months left. But, I am not entirely happy with the way my teeth look and feel that they could still be improved quite a bit. My last tray makes it look like my teeth will be pretty much perfect but the way things are going I can’t see how this is going to happen. Will the teeth move so much with these last few aligners?

Why has bite changed during invisalign?

I have been doing invisalign for about a month now, but am having problems when I chew food. After having a close look I think the problem is that my upper and lower teeth are no longer meeting correctly when chewing. This seems like a strange thing to happen and quite so early in the treatment? Will it sort itself out soon enough or may it get even worse?
