Why does my child constantly require cavity treatment?

September 9th, 2009
Q.
Hi Dr Kumar, I always make sure my 9 year old child brushes his teeth day and night, and I also limit the amount of sweets he eats. None the less, whenever I take him for his six-month check up, he always seems to need treatment for cavities and tooth decay. Is there an underlying problem, or is there something more I could do to improve my child’s dental hygiene?

My two front teeth hit my bottom teeth when I chew

September 9th, 2009
Q.
I have problems with my bite, as my two front teeth hit my bottom teeth when I chew food. I am pretty sure from reading things on the internet that this will lead to the gradual wearing of my front teeth. I am therefore considering braces. Is there one particular type which would help with this problem more than others?

Is invisalign causing my colds?

September 9th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I started invisalign treatment over two months ago and everything is going fine with the treatment. The only problem is that I seem to be getting colds all the time, which I was never prone to in the past. Is this to do with the braces?

Can gum disease lead to more harmful conditions?

September 9th, 2009
Q.
Hello. I am a 40 year old man and have recently been diagnosed with gum disease. I’ll admit, I have never been one to take care of my teeth all that well but it still came as a shock. I am worried whether it is contagious? I have also heard it can lead to other more harmful conditions?

Are there special services for nervous patients?

September 9th, 2009
Q.
I am a very nervous patient, and I hate all the instruments and the general vibe of a dentist. However, I also understand how important it is to take care of your teeth. Do any dentists offer special services for patients like myself? My current dentist is none too caring.

Should i have 6 month brace or invisalign

June 19th, 2009
Q.
I am thinking of having the 6 month brace but my dentist says it is not as good as invisalign for moving teeth at the back and we need to move back teeth to create space for front teeth to be straight do you agree that invisalign would be better for back teeth?

Can i use invisalign if i grind my teeth?

June 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have crooked teeth but also have a teeth grinding problem which is called bruxism and my dentist has given me a night gard to wear. Is it possible to have invisalign if i grind my teeth my dentist said I will need traditional braces because i will ruin the invisalign aligners if i grind my teeth at night and also I wont be able to wear the night guard if i am wearing invisalign at night. HAve you ever treated somebody who suffered from teeth grinding with invisalign? Is there any other options for me if invisalign is not suitable like the inman aligner or damon braces. I just dont want the big metal braces .
