Q. Hello! I\’ve noticed since having the invsalign in my oral health has deteriorated and i\’ve been brushing my teeth as usual and cleaning the trays etc so I don\’t understand what\’s happening but i\’ve noticed two small holes between the gaps in my front teeth, do you know why this could be happening?,
A. Has your diet changed in any way or do you have a sweet tooth and drink a lot of fizzy drinks? Diet can affect you oral health. Please make sure you see your dentist and hygienist regularly to help prevent problems. I would recommend you go and see your dentist to have those holes checked

Q. my aligners are not coming clean and making my breath smell really bad. I\’ve tried everything! do you think it could be to do with something wrong in my mouth? or is it the invisalign?,
A. It is a common complaint you need to wash the aligners after every meal never eat or drink anything with them in apart from cold water. You can soak your aligners in cold water or \”retainer brite\”. You may benefit from seing a dental hygienist.

Q. i have stains on my teeth since i have been using the aligners. why is this? they are a yellow colour and do not look pleasant. thank you dr, joy,
A. It could just be due to your diet keep your teeth as clean as possible, I recommend seeing a hygienist every three months during treatment.

Q. hello! i have strange stains on my teeth after having the attachments removed (just finished my treatment, yay!) anyway, they\’re awful, how do i get them off? i\’ve tried brushing etc but nothing\’s happening.,
A. Hello, You might want to book a Hygenist visit, who could polish up your teeth.

Q. i\’m currently under going the invisalign treatment and just found out that i\’m pregnant. is it still safe to carry on with the treatment?? thanks!,
A. There are no contraindications of having orthodontic treatment whilst pregnant. Just ensure you keeo your teeth and gums clean and visit the hygienist and dentist regularly

Q. hello dr my gums are bleeding because of invisalign. i think the attachments might be too sharp or something. what do you suggest i should do till i next get to see my ortho? thank you,
A. It is very difficult to say whether the cause of the bleeding are the actual trays. Usually, gum bleeding is due to not keeping the teeth and gums as clean as advised by your dentist and hygienist. I would recommend you see your dentist to identify the cause of the bleeding.
