i have moderate overcrowding ie too many teeth in

October 8th, 2009

Q. Hi there, I have moderate overcrowding ie too many teeth in my mouth. My upper row is fine. The bottom row has too many teeth. It means that the two at the front seem fine but the ones either side protudes upwards and are being pushed back this gives a unsightly dracula effect. what would be my options in your professional opinion, and what would be the quickest ?? regards.
A. There are many forms of teeth staightnening that are good for treating crowded teeth, ie invisalign, inman aligner, damon braces, six month braces. It is very difficult to say what the best form of treatment is for you without a clinical exam and without looking at your teeth and your bite. I would recommend you book in for a consultation with a dentist that carries out the treatments above to explore the options available for you.

The inman aligner is causing pain on my gums

August 26th, 2009

Q. Hi Dr, I have had the inman aligner on my bottom teeth for 4 weeks and the pain is getting worse. The plastic which rests on the gum has caused a deep indentation on one side and this is where the majority of the pain is coming from. Is this normal ? Thanks, Kye
A. I would advise you go and see your dentist, as it is very difficult to say what the cause of the pain is without seeing your teeth.

will inman aligner fix my overbite

August 23rd, 2009

Q. Hello i have a slight overbite and i was wondering if inman aligner would be able to fix my overbite because i dont really want braces, but ive heard inman aligner only straightens your teeth? Thank you in advance
A. Hello,
It is very difficult to tell without an examination whether you can have inman aligner or not.Inman is not as versatile as invisalign  so it is better to see a dentist for a consultation.

Do inman aligners only push teeth out

August 23rd, 2009

Q. i read on your ask the expert site that inman aligners are only good for pushing teeth out does this mean that my two teeth that come out more then the other teeth will not be pushed back in line with the straight teeth and that instead the straight teeth will be pushed out to meet the crooked ones instead thank you.
A. dear User. I have no experience of using The Inman Aligner and so cannot comment on this particular form of treatment

Is inman aligner better than invisalign?

May 29th, 2009

Q. Is inman aligner better than invisalign? I have been reading abount inman aligner and i have really badly crooked teeth and my orthodontist has recommended braces but i have been reading about the Inman Aligner and was wondering if this is better than invisalign because i read it only takes 8 weeks and invisalign could be 2 years? thank you in advance
A. The inman aligner is very good at straightening the front  four teeth (incisors) only.  It sounds like you need more advanced orthodontics so I would always recommend Invisalign or fixed braces.  They do take longer but you will get a more complete result. Other options are available to straighten your teeth such as 6 month smiles which looks to straighten the front 10 teeth in your mouth once again this is not as complete a treatment as Invisalign or traditional fixed braces.
