Should I get veneers or Invisalign to fix my crooked teeth?

March 24th, 2011
Q.

my front top teeth are crooked and two of my other teeth overlap. i really want to get this sorted out but i’m not sure of the best way. i am looking at veneers or invisalign, the good thing about veners is they will be quick but i’m worried about having to get them replaced, would invisalign have more permanent results??,

Would Invisalign be suitable for closing open bites?

March 24th, 2011
Q.

Hi, until i was eight i sucked my thumb and as a result i have an open bite. my teeth do not meet at he front and although it isn’t that noticeable i feel really self conscious about it. I also wouldn’t want everyone to know i have braces. So would invisalign be suitable for me? how is it in closing open bites? thanks,

My Invisalign aligner is extremely uncomfortable. What should I do?

March 24th, 2011
Q.

Please could you help me as I am and have been in considerable discomfort (jaw ache and more recently a nearly permanently ‘popping’ blocked ear on the same right hand side where my bite is wrong) since having Invisalign braces fitted over a year ago. The result looks fine asthetically but my bite has been altered (was completely fine before) as an area of the top and bottom jaw teeth on the right hand side do not sit correctly. I have gone back to the Invisalign orthodontist three times now and he just keeps saying they look great and files more of the tooth that is catching down. That tooth is now very sensitive and I still have a permanent and horrible sensation of not being able to properly relax the right hand side of my jaw as my bite is wrong. The jaw ache is getting worse and now my ear is playing up I really need to have it looked at and I believe a small adjustment made but I can’t afford to pay out more money to have it corrected. Is there a contact person at Invisalign or a procedure when this sort of problem occurs? I have read on line about being referred to Invisalign’s Clincal Physician? Have you heard of this? Any help would be hugely appreciated as I really don’t know what to do now and the orthodontist who did my brace just will not help. Many thanks and kind regards.

I am a folk/country singer and my act includes long interludes of whistling, an art I have developed through many years of endeavour. If I got Invisalign would this affect my ability to whistle?

Would invisalign be more suitable for a nervous patient than metal braces?

March 4th, 2011
Q.
I was recommended metal braces as a teenager, but I am pretty dental phobic so I avoided them. I regret this now as my teeth are not straight, but I am still pretty wary of metal braces. Would Invisalign be more suitable for a nervous patient?,

Would 7 months be long enough to straighten my teeth?

March 4th, 2011
Q.
I am getting married in 7 months, I would like to fix my teeth before then, is this longe enough? I know I have left it late, also I really wouldn’t want to still be wearing the aligners by the time I get married.,

Could abscess be caused by wearing braces?

March 2nd, 2011
Q.
Hi I got abscess over tooth, while I am wearing Invisalign. Got antibiotics, abscess healed..now I got new set of braces and suddenly abscess is back again. Dentist said I should still wear them. I am sure abscess is from pressure from braces. Is it ok, just wear braces, when I have abscess? It is not huge abscess.. Thank you.,
