Q. I am new to Invisalign now and have 17 upper trays, but this is combined with metal braces on my lower teeth. Wish they could have both been invisalign : ( Anyhow can you tell me what a good cleaning routine should involve? I understand you have to clean your teeth and aligners after each eating? What about every morning and night?,
A. It is very important to clean your teeth morning and night as well! A good cleaning routine should consist of bruhsing your teeth for 2-3 minutes then flossing and mouthwash. It is also very important to have a professional clean by the hygienist ever 3-6 months.

Q. Hi, I\’ve been using RetainerBrite to clean my aligners etc and it doesn\’t work very well, they still look very unclean and don\’t smell very pleasant. Do you know of any other alternatives? Thank you :),
A. my best advice is to soak in vinegar to remove tartar and then just a toothbrush and paste, aftre which soak them in mouthrinse

Q. i\’ve been cleaning my aligners with a special product but it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth, it\’s called something \’brite\’ i can\’t remember, anyway i was wondering if you could suggest something else i could use as this stuff is awful!,
A. Hello, Make sure after using Reatiner Brite you rinse the aligner with cold water. On your teeth you could always use some minty mouthwash after brushing of course.

Q. I am on my third tray now and am drinking loads of water and using lip balm for my lips but I am gertting a really dry mouth and lips. Is this something I will have throughout the treatment or should I expect it to go back to normal eventually? I have also noticed that my breath is a bit more stinky than normal which is a problem I have not had before - will this last? Any comments or advice would be appreciated.,
A. Hello,In the initial period some patient might experience dry mouth. Usually it gets better. If you brush your teeth properly after each meal you should not have to experience any problem regaring your breath. You could use mouthwash if you like.
