Q. hello Dr Li! I’m 18. Both of my incisors look weird. They are gap between them and they like curve outward. But, the rest of my teeth are tidy. What treatment do I need?Thank you doctor!
A. Dear Ainsley,
The space between the teeth should be easily closed with braces and the curvature may also be corrected with orthodontic treatment. Unfortunately I would need to see you to fully assess the position of your incisors to be confident.
If you would like to travel to the practice I can have a look.
Kind regards
Simon

Q. Will invisalign close up small spaces or will traditional braces work better? Thanks
A. invisalign is very good for closing spaces , I carry out lots of these cases and they work really well. You must wear your retainers once the space is closed or they will reopen.

Q. I just got the IPR done for my invisalign treatment and there are these horrible gaps in ym teeth because of it. This is not the problem though as my teeth have all of a sudden become quite sensitive because of it. Coupled with the cold weather this is a bit of a ngihtmare. This isn’t going to last too long is it?
A. You can have fluoride placed on them to reduce this, the teeth may be senstive because they are moving, try to keep the spaces as clean as possible.

Q. Toward the back of my mouth is a missing tooth. I lost this a few years ago but never got it sorted because it was so far back no one could notice it. Now, I want to get the rest of my teeth straightened through invisalign but I am unsure if I can do this seen as I have a missing tooth. Will this not maybe make the teeth mosve into this gap rather than straighten the? Hope to hear from you soon, Rachel.
A. The space could be closed or used to align the teeth as well as being maintained in case of replacement of the missing tooth with a bridge or implant.

Q. Can invisalign treat teeth that are gapped or is it only for those that need straightening?
A. Invisalign can be used for space closure as well as crowding.
To facilitate space closure attachments are placed on the teeth

Q. Is it possible to get invislaign if I had metal braces when I was younger? I have heard somepeople say this is not possible, something to do with hhaving teeth extracted,. but I would much rather have your opinion on this?
A. Hello,
You might be able to have Invisalign on your relapsed case but we need to check your bite first. I would advise an appointment with an Invisalign Provider

Q. Does the invisalign system work well for gapped teeth or is it only for slightly crooked teeth? There is a bit of a gap between all of the teeth at the front of my mouth so I am unsure if invisalign will be able to treat this?
A. Invisalign can treat both crowded and spaced teeth. It is very difficult to say without looking at your teeth and assessing the amount of spacing you have. I have treated spaced cases successfully. In some cases though the spaces are too big which cannot be fully closed, and in some instances veneers may be necessary after reducing the spaces.
I would recommend you go for a consultation to find out about your options
